CEA delegation holds institutional programme in Luanda

István Ujhelyi and Gábor Bodor led a Capital European Affairs delegation through a week of institutional meetings in Angola, alongside the Angola Oil & Gas Conference.

A delegation from Capital European Affairs (CEA) spent a dense week in Luanda this September, led by the organisation's Founder-President István Ujhelyi and its Director of Strategy and Policy, Gábor Bodor. The visit ran alongside the Angola Oil & Gas Conference, but the agenda reached well beyond energy: meetings with government ministries, public agencies and leading private companies were joined by sessions at the World Bank Group's local office and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), covering cooperation areas from water management and financial services to agriculture, education, tourism and investment development. The delegation was also received at the Hungarian Embassy in Luanda, underlining the institutional weight the two governments give the relationship. CEA credited Célio Njinga, a member of its Advisory Board, and his team for organising what the delegation described as an exceptionally intensive and productive programme. In a follow-up message, the delegation framed the visit as the start of what it called the "Magyar–Mwangolé Days," positioning it as a bridge between Africa and Europe, and thanked Angola's Ministry of External Relations (MIREX), the Oil & Gas sector and the Embassy of Hungary in Luanda for the meetings, dialogue and engagement, closing in Hungarian: "Köszönjük, hogy itt vagytok, és köszönjük a bizalmat!" — "Thank you for being here, and thank you for the trust."
